Community Threads KC exists for anyone in the Kansas City metro area who needs clothing support. We typically serve:

Low-income individuals and families
People experiencing homelessness
Survivors of domestic violence
Individuals transitioning back to employment
Children and seniors
Clients referred by partner organizations and referring agencies

You don't need to prove your income or explain your situation. If you need clothing, you are welcome here.

expanding our reach

We designed our space to feel like a boutique. When you walk through our doors, you'll find clean, organized clothing displayed with care, and volunteers who are genuinely glad to help.

We operate a no-cost, no-resale model. Every item in our boutique is available free of charge. We simply ask that clothing not be resold so our resources can reach as many people as possible.

Our inventory includes new and gently used clothing for adults and children, donated by individuals, corporations, and retailers across the Kansas City area.

Item limits are determined by current inventory and are designed to make sure we can serve as many people as possible. Our volunteers will walk you through the details when you arrive.

Can I come back more than once?

Yes. Visit frequency may be limited depending on inventory - please ask our team for current guidelines.

What if I need clothing now due to an emergency?

Please contact us directly. We do our best to accommodate emergency clothing needs as quickly as possible.
